The name CranioSacral comes from the fact that this therapy involves all of the bones of the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium and extends by a system of hydraulics and membranes to the lower end of the spine, the sacrum. This therapy is a soft approach with a more cooperative effect between the client and therapist.

The therapist uses very light pressure to release the body's own hydraulic system, the cerebrospinal fluid. This system, when functioning properly, forces fluid to move up and down the spinal cord. Therapy of this type restores the fluid movement to a normal rate of six to 12 cycles per minute. Allowing the body to function and heal at full capacity.

CranioSacral Therapy strengthens the body's own ability to care for itself. It can alleviate a range of illnesses, pain and dysfunction including migraines, headaches, neck and back pain, motor impairments, stress, infantile disorders, chronic fatigue and scoliosis. Therapy has also had a positive impact on those suffering with traumatic brain and spinal injuries. Psychological issues such as emotional challenges, learning disabilities and post traumatic stress disorder have also proven to be lessened with CranioSacral Therapy.
